Who is responsible for your data
Clasp Digital LLC operates NarratorBox and is responsible for the personal information processed to provide the service. As the service operator and data controller, Clasp Digital LLC decides how and why your information is used. For any privacy request, contact us through the support ticket route on this site; we do not publish a personal mailing address.
Data we keep
NarratorBox keeps the data needed to run your account and the service: your account email, subscription status from Polar, usage totals, saved-generation metadata, saved audio files you choose to keep, and support tickets you submit.
Narration text
We do not store the full text you paste for narration. Your pasted text is used to generate audio for that request and is then discarded.
Saved audio
If you turn on Save to library, we store the finished audio file and basic metadata such as title, voice, pace, duration, and creation time so you can replay or download it later. If a server update interrupts a saving narration mid-generation, the audio generated up to that point is kept in your library and marked as partial.
If Save is off, the narration is still written to a short-lived server-side audio spool so the current session can finish playback or reconnect safely. It is not added to your library, is not downloadable as a saved item, and is automatically deleted after the session window.
Payments, auth, and support
Payments are handled by Polar as merchant of record. Clasp Digital LLC does not receive or store your card number. Authentication is handled by Clerk. Support tickets handle refund, billing, technical, account, and complaint requests.
Export and deletion
You can export your account data from your account page. You can also delete your account, which revokes access, removes saved audio, deletes or anonymizes support-ticket data according to the retention rules needed for refunds and disputes, and removes your local account records except for a minimal non-personal deletion log.
Chrome extension
The NarratorBox Chrome extension lets you select text on a web page and hear it narrated. The extension sends your selected text to narratorbox.app over HTTPS for text-to-speech synthesis. For free listening it uses the demo path with no account required, and the selected text is not stored on NarratorBox servers. For paid listening, the extension identifies your account through a one-time connect step: after you sign in on narratorbox.app and open the connect page, the site sets a NarratorBox cookie on narratorbox.app itself, and the extension exchanges that cookie for a short-lived token that proves your subscription.
The extension reads only that NarratorBox cookie on our own domain. It never reads cookies from other websites, and it never reads page content beyond the text you actively select. Extension narrations are live-only and are not saved to your library. To support reconnects, replay, and browser-service-worker restarts, the extension may keep the selected text and generation state temporarily in Chrome extension session storage on your device; that temporary local session data is cleared by the browser or extension flow and is not synced to NarratorBox as stored account content.
The extension stores your settings and a cached account status locally in your browser profile. Data received from Chrome APIs is used only to provide the NarratorBox extension features described here, is not sold, is not used for advertising, is not transferred for unrelated purposes, and is not used to determine creditworthiness. The extension contains no secrets, Clerk secret keys, or Polar API keys, and it includes no analytics, telemetry, or third-party trackers.
